Fleet of Angels has been called "the most responsive national go-to organization in the country" for helping horse owners and small rescues when they need urgent assistance after being devastated by a natural disaster or other major emergency. 

We urgently need your help with these ongoing crises.  Never before in our history have we been asked to help so many horse owners and small rescues overcome challenges that threaten the wellbeing of equines in their care. Horses suffer if we aren't able to step up, and we know that you join us in our goal of never having to turn our backs on equines in crisis due to a lack of funds.  Here's what we're being asked to help with now:

FEED SHORTAGE
America's longest, harshest drought in recent history destroyed many hay crops during the last harvest season, driving the price of horse hay up to record levels that make it unaffordable for struggling families. Many owners are trying hard to keep their horses from suffering from hunger when grazing is not an option.  Our goal is to provide temporary help, keeping those vulnerable horses fed and safe in their homes while their caregivers find long term solutions to this problem. Preventing the horses from possibly falling into dangerous or deadly hands is critical. YOU make it possible for us to help thousands of equines every year, providing feed, emergency care, and even safe placement in new homes when necessary.  Please help us provide life-saving emergency horse hay, medical care, and other life-saving supplies and services. 

NATURAL DISASTERS
The United States has more tornadoes than any other country in the world.  In fact, over 70% of Earth's tornado events occur in America. There have been more tornadoes in our midwestern and gulf states in the past few months than in any time in recorded history. Flooding in western states have also been record-setting, with hundreds of thousands of acres of land saturated beyond use and many buildings and hay supplies destroyed or damaged. Wildfires in the southwest have taken major tolls on many. Farms have been destroyed or severely damage.  Horses have been severely injured. Fleet of Angels is able to contribute in meaningful ways toward the efforts to have horses seen by vets, rebuild fences, and provide essential items needed to keep horses contained, safe, fed, and cared for while owners find long term solutions to the challenges prevents by these storms.

PERSONAL CRISES
Fleet of Angels is frequently contacted about providing emergency assistance in helping horses find new homes after their owners passed away, became disabled, or lost their source of income due to an unavoidable situation. These crises are never the horses' fault, and we strive to mitigate suffering for the equine victims of these events by providing or helping arrange for emergency feed, care, placement in safe havens, and transportation to those new homes. 

UKRAINE
Thousands of horse owners in Ukraine are unable to safely evacuate that war-torn country due to the danger of transporting through enemy lines and vulnerable regions.  Fleet of Angels has provided funds for emergency hay and medical supplies for over 100 horses in Ukraine, but many more urgently need our help.  We are now in Phase 5 of this effort, and have created a designated fund specifically for this mission.
